LOTE

By opening windows into other cultures, the study of languages provides opportunities for students to become more accepting of diversity and more respectful of others. Learning a second language also assists students to gain a better understanding of their own language as they come to understand the patterns and systems that languages are constructed from.  At Maribyrnong Primary all students from kindergarten to year 6 participate in one French class a week in the supportive environment of a designated language classroom.

French is one of the major languages in the world, and is the official language in a large number of international organisations. At Maribyrnong, we are proud to teach French, with opportunities for all students to learn through diverse and engaging learning experiences. This includes opportunities to participate in  ACT francophonie and poetry competitions facilitated by Alliance Francaise and French embassy staff. Bienvenue à Maribyrnong!
